Nikki Haley's White House dream lives on, at least for a few more hours. When New Hampshire's first electoral district announced the results of the primary election, it was clear that Haley had won a landslide victory - six votes to Donald Trump's zero.
The small town of Dixville Notch has a tradition of voting "first in the country" and presenting the results shortly after midnight when election day begins. The votes are naturally easy to count: In this year's primary, there were four registered Republicans and two independent voters.
- This is how it should be in all communities in the United States. One hundred percent voter turnout, said Les Otten, a resident of Dixville Notch, to the AP.
According to recent opinion polls, Donald Trump has a lead in public opinion of almost 20 percentage points in New Hampshire.

Diminished viewing interest in TV broadcasts about the election
US election campaigns are often an opportunity for cable channels to highlight their strengths and showcase their brands. But the question is whether the connection between political peak season and high viewership figures remains in this year's presidential election.
Last week's Iowa primary drew 4.67 million people to tune into CNN, MSNBC or Fox News, half as many as in 2020, Deadline reports.
However, Tuesday's vote in New Hampshire has the advantage, unlike Iowa, of not having to compete with the NFL and the Emmys for viewers' attention.

Fake Biden call urged voters to skip primaries
Don't vote in the New Hampshire Democratic primary this week, but "save your vote" for the November election. That message got to many voters in phone calls over the weekend — in what sounded like a recorded message from Joe Biden.
- The conversation was clearly faked and not recorded by the president, says White House press spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre to ABC.
It is unclear exactly how many people have received the call or who is behind it. But according to experts NBC spoke to, the voice was almost certainly produced with the help of AI.
- All signs point to it being a deepfake, says expert Ben Colman.
The New Hampshire Attorney General's Office announces that an investigation has been launched into what appears to be an "illegal attempt to interfere with the primary."
