Source: Hamas says no to the ceasefire proposal
Hamas has rejected an Israeli proposal for a two-month ceasefire, which would mean the release of Israeli hostages in Gaza and Palestinian prisoners in Israel. This is what a source from the mediating country Egypt tells AP.
According to the proposal, several top representatives within the terrorist group would also be allowed to leave Gaza. However, Hamas is said to demand a permanent ceasefire before any more of the hostages are released.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Qatar, also a mediating country, says according to the Times of Israel that talks are ongoing and that potential solutions have been presented to both sides.

Task: Israel proposes a two-month ceasefire
Israel is proposing a pause of up to two months in the fighting in exchange for the release of all the hostages in Gaza, according to information provided to Axios.
The proposal is said to have been conveyed to Hamas via negotiators from Qatar and Egypt.
Two Israeli sources tell Axios that the proposal was approved by the War Cabinet ten days ago. Israel is now awaiting a response from Hamas.
In a first phase, women, men over the age of 60 and those hostages in need of emergency care would be released.
In a second phase, among other things, Israeli soldiers and bodies of dead hostages would be handed over.
In exchange, Israel would release detained Palestinians and redeploy troops from the most densely populated areas of Gaza.
