The US condemns the ministers' statements: "Irresponsible" 

 

The United States has reacted to the statements of two Israeli ministers that the Palestinians in Gaza should emigrate and that Israeli settlements should be established there instead. 

 

"This rhetoric is provocative and irresponsible," writes US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller in a statement.  

 

The United States' unequivocal position is that "Gaza is Palestinian land and will continue to be Palestinian land," according to Miller.

Israel was behind the drone attack in Lebanon that killed Hamas chief Saleh al-Arouri, a US defense source told AFP.  

 

Israel has neither claimed responsibility for the attack nor commented on the incident. But the country rarely does that in cases like this, points out Middle East researcher Isabell Schierenbeck.  

 

- Israel has said from the political, military and security services that no Hamas leader is safe after October 7. That sooner or later they will find and kill them is not entirely surprising, she tells TT.
