French President Emmanuel Macron is urging Europe to develop its own manned spaceflight capabilities.

Such a program would be part of a broader effort to strengthen Europe's space sector, according to Macron.

- We want Europe to show ambitions in manned spaceflight, says Macron at a space summit in Paris.

- Our European space program is still vulnerable and that we must intensify our efforts.
