Middle East Crisis Peace Talks

Hegseth: Ready to attack again if no agreement is reached

The US is ready to resume attacks on Iran if no agreement is reached. This is what US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said during a security conference in Singapore.

– Our stocks are more than well equipped for that, both there and globally, so we are in a very strong position, says Hegseth.

He also says that Donald Trump is “patient” and wants to reach a good agreement, not just any agreement.

Several media outlets have reported that an agreement has been negotiated and that now it is largely just up to Trump to take a position.

Source: Trump will only approve an agreement that meets all his conditions

The US president will only approve an agreement with Iran that meets all his conditions, a source within the White House told AFP.

– President Trump will only agree to a deal that is good for the United States and that meets all of his conditions, the official says.

One of Trump's red lines is that Iran can never have a nuclear weapon, which the official also points out.

Trump has had a meeting with his closest advisors during the day about a possible agreement with Iran.

Iran: Trump makes unreasonable demands – betrays diplomacy

Donald Trump "betrays diplomacy a third time" by sticking to the blockade of Iran's ports and making unreasonable demands during the negotiations. This is what Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei's advisor Mohsen Rezaei says on social media, reports Sky News.

"He proves once again that he is not the man of negotiations but is pursuing other goals," Rezaei writes.

The statement comes at the same time as Trump is said to be in the process of making a decision on whether to say yes to the proposed peace agreement or not.
