US inflation unchanged at 3.7 percent  

 

US inflation amounted to 3.7 percent on an annual basis in September, which is the same level as the month before. Analysts expected consumer prices to have risen by 3.6 percent.  

 

It was primarily housing costs and fuel prices that drove the development, notes Bloomberg.  

 

At the same time, core inflation slowed as expected to 4.1 percent on an annual basis, compared to 4.3 percent the month before. The outcome was the lowest since September 2021.

The EU urges Meta to stop disinformation about the war 

 

The EU has noted an increased spread of disinformation about the conflict between Israel and Hamas on digital platforms. EU Commissioner Thierry Breton is therefore calling on Meta's Mark Zuckerberg to handle this on his platforms, international media reports.  

 

Meta has previously said that immediately after the conflict broke out, it brought in experts who know both Hebrew and Arabic to monitor that kind of disinformation.
