Elon Musk's fortune
About 20 guards protect Musk: "A mini-Secret Service"

Elon Musk has a significantly larger security apparatus than other American multi-billionaires, reports the New York Times. Tesla's costs to protect Musk amounted to almost SEK 25 million last year, which can be compared to Amazon paying around SEK 16 million for Jeff Bezos' security.

Musk's staff is said to have grown considerably as he became both richer and more outspoken. On some trips, he is protected by around 20 security guards who often carry weapons. The newspaper writes that the investor legend Warren Buffett had only one bodyguard for a long time. Musk's security team is described as its own "mini-Secret Service".

Sources state that Musk has become increasingly cautious as the threat image has increased, to the point that bodyguards have followed him to the toilet at X.

Groundbreaking law in The Hague: Bans in-flight advertising

The politicians in the Dutch Hague have introduced a ban on advertising that promotes fossil industries and other climate-damaging activities, writes The Guardian.

The city is the first in the world to introduce such a ban. A new law was passed on Thursday and means that both private and publicly funded advertising for petrol and diesel, among other things, is prohibited on billboards and bus shelters. The same applies to advertising for air and cruise tours.

However, there are exceptions. Political advertising or advertising for a particular brand is not covered by the legislation.

Congo-Kinshasa sentences 37 to death in coup trial

37 people in Congo-Kinshasa have been sentenced to death accused of participating in what the military calls an attempted coup, AFP reports.

The May coup attempt was led by Congolese-American opposition politician Christian Malanga, who was killed. Three American citizens, including Malanga's son, are sentenced to the country's most severe punishment.

The indictment has been criticized by human rights groups who believe that transparency has broken down. Other people with citizenship of other countries are also sentenced, including a Briton and a Canadian.
