Expert: The pictures a signal to Harris and Trump

It is no coincidence that North Korea is releasing photos showing the country's dictator Kim Jong-Un at a facility that is enriching uranium right now. That's according to experts the Korea Times spoke to.

According to defense analyst Lee Sang-kyu, it is a signal to the winner of the fall presidential election in the United States.

- By showing these facilities, North Korea appears to be paving the way for continued strategic provocations, while at the same time sending a signal to the United States that it is willing to negotiate on nuclear issues.

North Korea releases photos of uranium facility

North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un has visited a facility that enriches uranium for nuclear weapons, several media reports. In connection with the visit, state media published images showing the facilities for the first time.

It is not clear when or where the dictator's visit was made. According to the state-controlled news agency KCNA, Kim Jong-Un is said to have expressed "great satisfaction regarding the amazing technical ability".

Reuters writes that North Korea is believed to have several uranium enrichment facilities. The country's nuclear power program is prohibited by the UN Security Council.
