In the final weeks of the election, Donald Trump wants more personal protection.

Military aircraft, bulletproof glass and flight restrictions at the ex-president's properties, according to information provided to the Washington Post .

Advisers within the campaign are worried about more assassination attempts.

After the assassination attempts during the campaign meeting in Pennsylvania and the golf course in Florida, Donald Trump's staff is worried that more acts will be directed at the presidential candidate.

But according to information provided to the Washington Post, it is not a matter of concern for individual perpetrators - but of a threat from Iran.

Historical personal protection

Now Donald Trump has requested such comprehensive personal protection that it is described as historic. Among other things, he wants to be flown in military aircraft in the weeks leading up to the election. Something that no previous presidential candidate has been allowed to do.

The campaign also wants increased flight restrictions over Trump's residences and bulletproof glass during campaign speeches.

The reason is that Trump's staff states that it has received information from the government that Iran is planning to assassinate the ex-president.

There is no evidence or confirmed information linking Iran to previous or planned assassination attempts on Trump, the newspaper writes.

The campaign manager's criticism

In recent days, Trump campaign manager Susie Wiles has been in contact with Secret Service chief Ronald L. Rowe Jr., according to documents obtained by the Washington Post.

In an email, she is said to have expressed dissatisfaction with how the agency handled the security around the presidential candidate.

According to Susie Wiles, Trump was forced to cancel a campaign speech due to a "lack of security personnel".

The Secret Service writes in a comment to the newspaper that Trump "received the highest level of protection".
