Dirty chaos at scout camp after heat wave in South Korea
A heat wave has caused several people to suffer heat stroke during a large scout camp in South Korea where over 43,000 scouts participate.
That's what the Korea Times writes. The organizers have received strong criticism for being unprepared to protect the young people from the heat wave, but also because the camp lacks proper places to take care of their hygiene.
One participant tells the newspaper that there are not enough toilets for all the participants and that showers for the boys are not yet ready — three days after the camp started. Even the showers that are available are dirty and trash overflows into the trash cans, according to the participant.
- I am personally concerned that an epidemic outbreak is only a matter of time here.

After the criticism – the president sends cooling buses
Now South Korea's president promises to send "unlimited" air-conditioned buses, medical personnel and trucks filled with water to the big scout camp Jamboree. That's what The Guardian writes. The reason is that the camp has received strong criticism for lack of hygiene conditions and that it has been difficult to protect oneself against the prevailing heat wave.
The participants are camping on an old tidal area and so far over 700 people have had to seek care for heat-related injuries since the camp began three days ago.
Authorities have issued the highest heat warning in the country in four years.
