Stoltenberg: The US must give Ukraine "what they have promised"
The US must deliver "what it has promised" to Ukraine, says NATO Director General Jens Stoltenberg in a statement at the annual security conference in Munich, which is currently underway.
He is referring to the support package of 60 billion dollars, corresponding to approximately 600 billion Swedish kronor, which has been blocked by the American Congress.
- It is vital and urgent that the US decides on the support package for Ukraine, because they really need that support, says Stoltenberg.

"We Europeans must take care of our own security"
- We Europeans must take care of our own security to a greater degree, both now and in the future, says German Chancellor Olaf Scholz during an international security conference in Munich today.
The statement comes shortly after Donald Trump several times set conditions for US support to other NATO countries if they were to be attacked.
At the same time, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg claimed earlier this week that the European NATO countries are spending more money than ever before on their defense.
The Russian InvasionThe Battles
Expert: That's why Russia wants insignificant Avdijivka
Many have pointed out that the city of Avdijivka lacks strategic importance, but then why has it been the focus of recent battles?
Military analyst Johan Norberg believes that part of the explanation is that it is simply "doable" for Russia. Avdijivka is close to the Russian-occupied city of Donetsk, which means that Russian resources and logistics chains are in place, he tells SvD.
- The Russian strategy in general is probably to pressure the Ukrainians so that they cannot relax. Then they work politically to create a rift between Ukraine and the West this year, and hope that the Russian advantage will be so great that the war can be decided next year or the year after.
