Bolsonaro is accused of attempted coup d'état

Brazil's former president Jair Bolsonaro forged a far-reaching plan for a coup d'état before the 2022 election. Among other things, he personally wrote a draft of an order to arrest HD judges and call new elections if he lost.

They show a 134-page report by the Brazilian federal police that was made public on Thursday, according to the New York Times.

The report is part of a large investigation against Bolsonaro and tens of associates. In an extensive raid on Thursday, 33 house searches were carried out, including Bolsonaro's, and four people were arrested.

The ex-president has had his passport confiscated, ordered to stay in the country and banned from having contact with other suspects. He denies the allegations.

- I handed over power more than a year ago and am still subjected to continuous persecution, he tells the Brazilian newspaper Folha de São Paulo.

Accusations against Unrwa questioned: "No evidence"

British Channel 4 questions Israel's accusations that twelve employees of the UN agency Unrwa participated in the terrorist group Hamas's attack on October 7.

The information about Unwra was included in an Israeli intelligence report and details of it were published by the Wall Street Journal.

But according to Channel 4, which read the report, it contained "no evidence". Channel 4 journalist Lindsey Hilsum writes on X:

"Why did donors, including the UK, stop funding UNRWA on such flimsy unproven allegations before an investigation was carried out?"

Juliette Touma, head of communications at Unrwa, says in the feature that every year Israel receives a list of the employees. As recently as last May, all Unrwa employees were approved. Among those approved were the nine staffers fired from the UN agency after being singled out by Israel.
