The nuclear agreement with Iran
Iran opens for new talks with the "enemy" USA

Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, opens the door for the country to start new talks with the United States about the country's nuclear power program. This is reported by AP. In a statement, Khamenei says there is "no danger" in talking to the "enemy". At the same time, he claims that the US cannot be trusted.

The 2015 Iran nuclear deal, signed alongside several world powers, saw economic sanctions lifted against Iran in exchange for curbs on its nuclear program. In 2018, Donald Trump withdrew the US from the agreement.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has warned that Iran has far more enriched uranium than was stipulated in the nuclear deal. Rafael Grossi, head of the IAEA, has also warned that the country will soon have enough uranium to develop nuclear weapons.

The Kremlin demands "serious evidence" against the arrested Telegram CEO

The Russian leadership in the Kremlin wants to see "serious evidence" against the arrested Telegram CEO Pavel Durov, who was arrested in France this weekend. In a statement on Tuesday, the Kremlin stated that the arrest would otherwise be seen as an attempt to restrict freedom of expression, reports Reuters.

- I can even say that it is an attempt to directly intimidate the head of a large company, says Kremlin spokesman Dimitriy Peskov, according to AFP.

The speaker of the Russian Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, says in a statement that it is about the US, via France, trying to take control of the app that has been used by both sides in the war in Ukraine, according to Reuters.

According to French prosecutors, Durov was arrested as part of an investigation into drug trafficking, child pornography and money laundering on the messaging app.
