Donald Trump on immigrants: "Lots of bad genes in the country"

Presidential candidate Donald Trump is stepping up his hate speech against immigrants ahead of the November election. In a radio interview on Monday, he claims it is in their genes to commit murder, reports Politico.

- Killing is in their genes. And we have a lot of bad genes in our country right now, he says, repeating his claims that America's borders are completely open.

Trump has previously made several racial biology statements. Last year, he said immigrants are "poisoning the blood of our country," according to C-Span. In 2020, he referred to breeding horse theory, just as white power groups have done in the past, in front of an almost all-white audience in Minnesota:

- You have good genes. It's all about genes, isn't it? Breeding horse theory. Do you think we are so different horses? he said according to NBC.

The immigration issue is important to voters and a weakness for Kamala Harris, according to Politico.

Democrats are pinning their hopes on Obama in the run-up to the election

Many Democrats are hoping that former President Barack Obama will give Kamala Harris a much-needed boost in the race, reports The Hill.

Obama will campaign heavily for Harris in the coming month, and party sources believe he, more than anyone else, can swing the election in Harris's favor. According to Democratic strategist Eddie Vale, it is a deliberate choice to send Obama forward at a late stage.

- He still has great impact, and they wait until the last moment so that he is not overused.
