Drone with bomb discovered at German airport

A drone with an explosive charge was found at an airport in Leipzig, Germany late on Tuesday evening, reports Focus.

Several flights have been diverted citing security concerns. The drone was reportedly found near a Ukrainian plane, and according to the German tabloid Bild, police are investigating the incident as an attempted attack.

There are currently no known suspects.

The discovery of a drone with an explosive charge at an airport in Leipzig, Germany, represents a “new level of danger”. This is what German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt said, according to AFP.

The circumstances suggest that it is not an amateur who is behind the incident, he told reporters.

– We are dealing with a professional hybrid threat.

The drone was disarmed and destroyed by police during the day.
