Trump: Open Hormuz or be “hit very hard”
Iran will be hit “very hard” if the Strait of Hormuz is not reopened very soon. Donald Trump said this in an interview with Fox News on Wednesday night.
At the same time, reports abound that the US, Iran and Oman are approaching an agreement to reopen the strait.
The information about the talks – and who is participating in them – has been contradictory this week. Iran has stated that it is negotiating with Oman mainly about maritime traffic through the strait, without interference from the US.
At the same time, both President Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio claim that the US is involved – and have repeatedly insisted that the negotiations are moving forward.

At the same time, however, the US president uses harsh language and threatens Iran with new attacks that he says would hit them “very hard” if the Strait of Hormuz, which is so important for world trade, is not reopened “very soon”.
Information indicates that the US, Iran and Oman are close to an agreement to reopen the strait, several media outlets report.
According to sources to Axios, the parties are aiming to reach an agreement on Wednesday.
