Following reports that US weapons stocks are running low, President Donald Trump claims that the US has a large supply of military equipment. Those who suggest the opposite risk long prison sentences, according to Trump.

US media have reported that the war in Iran is causing the US's stock of offensive and defensive missiles to start running low. In a post on his Truth Social platform on Thursday, Trump rages against the reporting.

"The US has enormous amounts of military equipment, especially of certain types," Trump writes without giving any details. Trump also writes that those who leaked the information, which the president describes as "treasonous", are being hunted down and risk "long prison sentences".

According to The Washington Post, Trump is said to have confronted Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth during a cabinet meeting at the Camp David residence last week about the dwindling weapons stocks. Two sources with knowledge of the matter told the newspaper that Hegseth allegedly blamed Deputy Secretary of Defense Stephen Feinberg for Trump not being fully briefed on the matter.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt called the newspaper's information false.

"I was at Camp David with President Trump and Secretary of Defense Hegseth. This literally never happened," Leavitt wrote on X regarding the alleged confrontation.
