Trump: Iran opens the Strait – or we will strike

Trump threatens Iran again, while continuing to claim that negotiations with the country are ongoing, writes the Financial Times.

– The Strait will open very soon, or we will strike very hard – and then the Strait will open, says the president.

According to Axios sources, Iran and Oman are close to signing an agreement that would mean the Strait will be opened for 60 days. It is reported that it could be presented as early as Wednesday.

In recent days, Iran has repeatedly denied that it is holding any direct negotiations with the United States.

The United States attacked Iran for the twelfth night in a row during the night of Wednesday.

Saudi ship fired at by Houthis in Red Sea

Houthi rebels in Yemen say they have attacked a Saudi oil tanker in the Red Sea, writes AFP.

According to a spokesman, the ship was fired at with “a number of ballistic missiles”. There is currently no information about any damage.

The Houthi rebels have blocked the Bab al-Mandeb Strait in the southern parts of the Red Sea for Saudi ships. In response, Saudi Arabia has begun redirecting traffic to the northern part of the sea.

Hundreds of victims in Gaza's largest mass funeral

112 people who were killed in an Israeli attack on a residential building in 2023 have been buried in Gaza, NBC News reports.

The funeral is the largest ever in Gaza. The victims are mostly women and children, whose bodies were recently found in the rubble of the Sabra district of Gaza City.

The BBC has asked the Israeli army to tell what the target of the attack was, but has not received a response. In total, at least 70,000 people have been killed in Gaza since the war began.

The 39-year-old at the funeral: “I’m almost going crazy”

The 39-year-old Gazan Lara Abu Shreia lost 14 family members when Israel attacked the apartment building where they lived in November 2023.

Now they have been buried, along with almost 100 other victims of the attack, Al Jazeera reports. For Lana Abu Shreia, it has meant a way of saying goodbye, but also that grief has been renewed.

– Sometimes I think about how they suffocated under the rubble. "I almost go crazy thinking about their last moments," she says.
