Sources: US has used “virtually all” of its long-range precision-guided missiles

The US has used “virtually all” of its long-range precision-guided missiles, and slightly less than half of its Tomahawk missiles, during the war against Iran, sources with knowledge of the matter told Reuters.

The long-range missiles cost about $1 million each. US long-range missiles have also played a key role in the Ukraine war, enabling Ukraine to attack targets far from the Russian border.

Donald Trump may now be forced to use riskier piloted bombers if he wants to resume fighting against Iran, according to the sources.

The White House tells the news agency that the US has “far more warheads than anyone else in the world, and far more than we need”.

New talks between Israel and Lebanon have begun in Rome

A new round of talks between Israel and Lebanon with the United States as mediator has begun in Rome, the US State Department said according to Reuters.

The talks will continue until Thursday.

“The United States remains fully committed to supporting both governments in moving the process forward in a way that provides lasting security for both countries, eliminates security threats to Israel, and restores Lebanese statehood throughout the south,” State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott wrote on X.

Earlier in the day, the talks in Rome were condemned by Hezbollah, which says that negotiations with Israel will lead to “shame, humiliation, and increasing compromise” for Lebanon.
