Deadly attacks on Ukraine – spy office hit
The headquarters of the Ukrainian security service SBU in Kiev has been hit in a Russian drone attack, President Volodymyr Zelenskyj said.
In previous attacks on Friday, several people have been killed in both Ukraine and Russia.
The drone had targeted the office of SBU chief Oleksandr Poklad, according to Zelenskyj.
– I have tasked Poklad with responding to this Russian attack in an appropriate, significant and – if possible – symmetrical manner, the president said, according to the Kyiv Independent.
One civilian was killed and at least five injured in Russian attacks on Odessa on Friday night, Governor Oleh Kiper said.
“Apartments, facades and glass windows of two apartment buildings were damaged,” he wrote on Telegram.
In Dnipro, further east, two police officers were killed in nighttime Russian strikes, according to local officials. In the capital, Kiev, several people were injured in a drone strike that hit an apartment building, the AP reports.
Ukraine has launched counterattacks in several places in Russia. Early Friday, local authorities in Sochi reported that an oil depot was on fire after a Ukrainian drone strike.
Two men were also killed in a Ukrainian drone strike on a residential building in Bryansk, Russia, according to acting regional governor Yegor Kovalchuk.
“This is a great tragedy,” he wrote on Telegram.
