แม้ว่า กษัตริย์วชิราลงกรณ์ จะแทบไม่เคยมาที่ วังสวนอัมพร เลย แต่เขากำลังสั่งให้มีการสร้างกลุ่มอาคารขนาดมโหฬารอันซับซ้อน พร้อมไปด้วยชั้นใต้ดินเชื่อมกันด้วยอุโมงค์ติดต่อได้หลายตึก โดยมีเครื่องบิน 737 ของการบินไทยจอดประดับสวนอยู่เครื่องหนึ่ง
พระราชวังอันเปี่ยมด้วยคุณค่าทางประวัติศาสตร์ พระที่นั่งวิมานเมฆ ก็โดนทุบทิ้งไปแล้ว อาจเป็นได้ว่า จะถูกสร้างขึ้นมาใหม่ สถานที่ในเขตบริเวณ เช่น ราชตฤณมัยสมาคมแห่งประเทศไทย, สวนสัตว์ดุสิต, รัฐสภา, รวมไปทั้ง มหาวิทยาลัย สวนดุสิต และสวนสุนันทา ต่างโดนเตะโด่ง ไล่ที่ออกไปแล้วจากบริเวณใกล้เคียง และต้องไปหาที่สร้างใหม่ เพื่อปล่อยให้วชิราลงกรณ์เอาพื้นที่กว้างใหญ่ไพศาลกลางกรุง ไปสร้างกลุ่มอาคาร เป็นเขตพระราชฐาน ของวชิราลงกรณ์
เมื่อปีที่แล้ว มีวีดีโอหลุดออกมาออนไลน์ ซึ่งเป็นคลิปถ่ายจากอุโมงค์ใต้ดินที่หนึ่ง ซึ่งก่อให้เกิดการสืบสวนสอบสวนขนานใหญ่ ที่ฝ่ายวังต้องการค้นหาที่มาของวีดีโอของความลับที่หลุดออกไปในสาธารณะ
ตั้งแต่นั้นเป็นต้นมา ใครจะเข้าไปในเขตพระราชฐาน ก็ต้องโดนเอาเทปปิดเลนส์กล้องมือถือ ก่อนที่จะได้รับอนุญาตให้เข้าไปข้างในได้
วชิราลงกรณ์ ไม่ต้องการให้ชาวไทยได้รับรู้ว่าเขาเอาเงินจำนวนมหาศาล ไปถลุงเล่นสร้างราชวังที่ไร้ประโยชน์
🍕🇬🇧 A massive reconstruction project is underway at Ampornstan Palace and the surrounding area in the royal district of Bangkok.
Even though King Vajiralongkorn hardly spends any time at Ampornstan, he is overseeing the creation of a giant palace complex that even has underground tunnels to link various buildings, and a Thai Airways 737 parked in the garden.
The historic Vimanmanek Mansion has been demolished, and allegedly been rebuilt. Bangkok Turf Club, Dusit Zoo, the national parliament, and Suan Dusit and Suan Sunandha Rajabhat universities, have all been kicked out of the area and forced to relocate, to make room for Vajiralongkorn's huge royal complex.
Last year, video was leaked online showing one of the underground tunnels. It led to a long investigation in the palace to try to find the source of the leak.
Since then, anyone entering the palace complex has to have tape put over the camera lenses of their phone before they are allowed to proceed.
Vajiralongkorn does not want Thais to see the amount of money he is wasting on his pointless palace.
