Two soldiers are suspected of spying for China
Two US marines have been arrested on suspicion of spying for China, writes CNN. The two men are said to have shared sensitive US military information with Chinese intelligence. The one man is suspected of having himself initiated the contact with the Chinese intelligence service. Among other things, he allegedly sent over technical manuals for American warships.
The other man is suspected of having sent photographs and video footage of military exercises for payment since 2021. He is said to have allowed himself to be bribed to hand over the information.
The men worked at two different naval bases and are charged in different cases. It is still unclear whether they should have worked together.
