King Charles has cancer - cancels public engagements
Britain's King Charles III has been diagnosed with cancer, according to Buckingham Palace according to the BBC.
It is not clear what type of cancer the 75-year-old king has. Charles recently had surgery for an enlarged prostate. The cancer was discovered in connection with the operation, but according to the BBC, it is not prostate cancer that he was diagnosed with.
He will cancel his public duties during the treatment. Buckingham Palace states that the King "is positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to the public as soon as possible".
Charles will continue to act as head of state. The British government has been informed of the circumstances.

"I have no doubt that he will be back at full strength in no time and I know the whole country wishes him well," writes Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on X.
Similar messages also come from Labor leader Keir Starmer, and from the prime ministers of Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland. US President Joe Biden says he is concerned by the announcement.
