"Cancer detected early - carry on as usual"
King Charles' cancer was detected at an early stage, according to British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who says Charles intends to "carry on as usual".
- I have regular contact with him as I usually do, says Sunak to the BBC.
The cancer was discovered in connection with the monarch being treated for an enlarged prostate, but he should not suffer from prostate cancer. The type of cancer the king has is not known.
He has canceled several official engagements, but will remain on duty while the treatment is ongoing.

Analysis: Fatal news for someone who has waited a long time
The news that King Charles has suffered from cancer appears to be fateful considering that he ascended the throne at an age when most people had already retired for a long time, writes Rajeev Syal in an analysis in The Guardian.
"Slowly but surely he has begun to make his mark as king [...] and the announcement raises questions about how he will design the role in the future," writes Syal.
At the same time, the British are used to having a monarch in failing health, says Sky News' Alastair Bruce, referring to Queen Elizabeth who died at the age of 96.
The announcement of the illness may - although it was not something the king planned to pursue - mean that the interest in organizations that help cancer sufferers and their families receives more attention, according to Bruce.

Harry is said to have landed in London after the cancer announcement
Prince Harry has landed at Heathrow Airport in London, according to several British media.
Shortly after Buckingham Palace announced on Monday night that King Charles III had been diagnosed with cancer, Harry was said to be returning home to England from California, where he usually lives with his wife Duchess Meghan Markle and their children. Markle, on the other hand, is said to be staying at home.
The BBC has been waiting at Heathrow all day and writes at 2:30 p.m. that several black SUVs, which the court usually uses, drove to and from the airport.
