Venezuela kicks out UN human rights agency
On Thursday, the Venezuelan government closed the office of the UN human rights agency OHCHR and gave the staff 72 hours to leave the country, AP writes.
At a press conference, Foreign Minister Yván Gil accused the OHCHR of becoming "a private law firm for coup plotters and terrorist groups that are incessantly conspiring against the country," without giving any examples.
It is happening at a time of growing concern about increasingly harsh political repression from the government ahead of the upcoming election, according to AP. A week ago, prominent human rights lawyer Rocio San Miguel and some of her family members were arrested, sparking protests both inside and outside the country.

The North Korea crisis
Hackers stole emails from South Korea's president
North Korean hackers have entered an e-mail box belonging to an assistant to South Korean President Yoon Suk-Yeol, the BBC reports.
The local newspaper Kukmin Ibko, which was the first to report on the incident, writes that the hackers, among other things, came across emails sent to and from the president. The government has not officially commented on what information may have been stolen, but confirms the breach.
- The security breach was caused by a careless breach of security regulations where an individual administrator used private email services in their work, a government spokesperson told the BBC.

Korea launches new cruise missiles
North Korea has fired cruise robots into the sea on Wednesday, South Korea's military says.
It is the fifth time since January that North Korea has fired robots and the rhetoric from Pyongyang towards South Korea has hardened significantly in recent months.
Among other things, Kim Jong-un has said that one has the legal right to "wipe out" South Korea, which he described as North Korea's "main enemy".
Tests of cruise missiles, unlike ballistic missiles, do not violate UN sanctions against North Korea.
