Iraqi militia leader killed by US drone
The US has killed a commander in the Iran-backed Iraqi militia group Kataib Hezbollah, the US military says, according to AFP.
A source within the group, who confirms the attack, tells the news agency that the commander in question was named Abu Bakr al-Saadi. He and another member of the group are said to have been killed when an American drone fired at the car they were traveling in in Baghdad.
It comes a week after the US struck 85 targets linked to Iran-backed militias in Iraq and Syria. The revenge attacks are a response to the attack on a military base in Jordan

Trump's USATrump's future
Source: EU prepares trade fight against Trump
The EU is preparing for a possible second term of office with Donald Trump in the United States - and what trade barriers this may entail, writes Bloomberg with reference to a source with insight.
A major concern is higher tariffs on goods exported from Europe — something Trump's staff is already sketching in the form of a broad 10 percent tariff, according to the news agency.
Some countries – such as Germany – are already on a charm offensive with the Republicans to lubricate relations ahead of a Republican win, writes Bloomberg further.
According to Politico, Trump's advisers are toying with the idea of increasing tariffs to a level not seen in decades.

SR: "Has a strong coverage even without Kinapodd"
SR's
coverage of China will continue to be strong despite the popular
Kinapodden being shut down when Radiohuset has to save 225 million. That's what Ekot's head Klas Wolf-Watz and SR's program director Sofia Wadensjö Karén write on SvD's debate page.
The
radio will keep its correspondent in Beijing and will highlight news
about and from China in, among others, Ekot, Studio Ett and P1 Morgon.
"That
the coverage of China is important for Sveriges Radio also in the
future is indisputable," write Wadensjö Karén and Wolf-Watz.
