Saab's budget bomb delivered to Ukraine in silence

The bomb, which was developed in collaboration between Swedish Saab and American Boeing, is part of a support package of 2.2 billion dollars that the United States sent to Ukraine. According to Politico's sources, it may already be in use

Saab does not want to comment on whether it actually delivered the bomb known as GLSDB: Ground-Launched Small Diameter Bomb.
For DI, the defense group describes the forces with the bomb:
- We combine that bomb with a rocket engine that can be fired from surface-based platforms. This rocket artillery system can then be used by both army units but also by naval units, says Mats-Olof Rydberg, sales manager at Missile Systems in Saab's Dynamics business area.

Ukraine becomes test pilots
GLSDB has a range of over 150 kilometers and a high accuracy, according to Saab. It is also so cheap that it is described as a "budget bomb".
According to American Defense new, a bomb is manufactured for the equivalent of 420,000 kroner. To compare with the long-distance robot ATACMS, which costs close to SEK 16 million.

Ukraine will be the first country to use the bomb in combat and will act as a test pilot for other countries that have begun investing in long-range weapons after Russia's invasion in 2022, writes Politico.
