Biden mistook Macron for Mitterrand "from Germany"
US President Joe Biden has given new fuel to critics who believe he is too old to run for re-election this fall. During a speech in Las Vegas on Sunday, he confused current French President Emmanuel Macron with Francois Mitterrand, who was president from 1981 to 1995 and died in 1996. He also labeled Mitterrand as the German chancellor before correcting himself, only to again shortly place the former leader of the wrong country.
It was when Biden was going to tell an anecdote from a G7 meeting that names and countries got mixed up.
- And Mitterrand from Germany
- I mean, from France - looked at me and said..."You know, what... why... how long will you be back?" And I looked at him and... the Chancellor of Germany said...”
The White House has published a transcript of the speech on its website. There, the name "Mitterrand" has been crossed out and replaced with "Macron".

Trump: Biden and I should debate - for America's sake
Donald Trump wants to "immediately" meet President Joe Biden in a debate, he says in an interview with the conservative radio program The Dan Bongino Show.
- We should debate for the sake of our country.
The play comes despite the fact that Trump has not yet been named the Republican presidential candidate, although there are many indications that it will be him who will challenge Biden this fall. At the same time, the ex-president has refused all primary election debates against other Republican aspirants.
NBC reports that Joe Biden responded to the call.
- Immediately? If I were him, I'd want to debate me too. He has nothing better to do, he says.

Trump not immune from sedition charges after 2020 election
Donald Trump is not covered by immunity from prosecution and can therefore be brought before a federal court for the suspicions that he tried to overturn the election results in 2020. This is stated by an appeals court on Monday according to American media.
The suspicions include that Trump urged people to go to Washington to demonstrate against the election results. The demonstration degenerated into the storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021.
An appeals court can be compared to a Swedish court of appeal. AP writes that Trump will likely appeal the decision to the Supreme Court.
The trial on Trump's attempt to overturn the election was scheduled to begin on March 3 but was recently postponed pending the appeals court's decision.
