New Israeli attacks in Lebanon – several dead

Six people have been killed and eight injured in two Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon on Friday, according to Lebanon's health ministry.

The attacks were aimed at the town of Habboush. A woman and a child are said to be among the dead.

The attacks were carried out despite the ceasefire that came into effect on April 17.

Both Israel and the Iran-backed Shiite militia Hezbollah carry out attacks and accuse each other of violating the ceasefire.

Hezbollah rocketed Israel on March 2, to which Israel responded with extensive air strikes and a ground offensive in southern Lebanon. Over 2,600 people have been killed in Lebanon in Israeli attacks during that period.
