Trump: We will help ships through Hormuz

The US will begin to "guide" ships from a number of countries through the blocked Strait of Hormuz starting Monday, according to Donald Trump.

The US president writes on Truth Social that the US "to the best of its ability" will help "ships and crews to safely get through the strait".

He adds that these are ships from countries around the world, "most of which are not involved in the Middle East conflict".
