Then the president turned his attention to Cuba.

A letter was sent to Congress on Friday.

It was signed by President Donald Trump, who announced that hostilities with Iran have ceased.

At that time, 60 days had passed since the coordinated and initial attacks on Tehran by the United States and Israel. After that, approval from Congress is required to continue carrying out military operations.

At the same time, a new executive order was signed regarding new sanctions against Cuba. They are aimed at officials in the energy, defense, finance and security sectors - who, according to Trump, have been guilty of crimes against humanity or corruption, writes the BBC.

Can deploy aircraft carriers

Trump has previously threatened a takeover and said last March that “Cuba is next.” In his speech on Friday, he mentioned the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln.

– We will ask it to come in, stop about 100 meters from the coast and they will say: “Thank you very much, we give up.”

However, the president added that he “has a job to finish” first.

– I like finishing jobs.

So far, peace talks between the countries have failed and according to a senior official in Iran, the fighting “will probably continue.”

“The evidence shows that the US is not sticking to any promises or agreements,” said Mohammad Jafar Asadi at the Khatam al-Anbiya military headquarters, according to the state-run Iranian Fars.

Tehran, in turn, has submitted a peace proposal to the US via Pakistan. A proposal that has been rejected by Trump.

“I am not satisfied with what they are offering,” he told reporters in connection with it.
