The violence in Somalia
At least 32 dead in attack on popular beach in Mogadishu

At least 32 people were killed in an explosion at a popular beach area in Somalia's capital Mogadishu last night, AP reports. A further 63 people have been injured.

Security forces are said to have shot dead five perpetrators. The terrorist movement al-Shabaab is singled out for the crime.

The Lido beach area is popular and many residents like to go there on Friday evenings. Witness Mohamud Moalim tells AP that an assailant wearing a bomb vest blew himself up next to the hotel. Several of Moalim's friends are said to have been killed or injured. Another witness, Abdisalam Adam, says he saw many people lying on the ground.

Swedish Tobias in Tel Aviv: "Not thinking about leaving"

Israel is awaiting the promised revenge of Iran and its allies after the deadly attack on Hamas leader Ismail Haniya earlier this week.

Over ten major airlines have canceled trips to Tel Aviv due to the security situation, reports Haaretz. For residents and tourists who want to leave the country, it is becoming increasingly difficult and ticket prices have skyrocketed.

Swedish Tobias Gisle has been living and working in Tel Aviv for 15 years. He has both Swedish and Israeli citizenship and believes that the stricter travel advice from the Swedish government does not affect him in the same way as if he had been a tourist.

- We have bought water and a transistor radio for our shelter [...] but we have not thought about leaving the country, he tells Sveriges Radio.
