Putin: Conservatives from the West are allowed to seek "asylum"
On Monday, Vladimir Putin signed a presidential order granting residence permits to foreign and stateless citizens who share "traditional Russian spiritual and moral values." It reports independent Moscow Times.
People who oppose the "destructive neoliberal agenda" in their home countries can seek "humanitarian aid" in Russia, even without knowledge of the language. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs now has 30 days to put together a list of countries with such an "agenda".
Russian authorities are increasingly trying to attract conservatives from the West. In May 2023, a "migrant village" for conservative American expats was established in Moscow, and last week it was claimed that an American family sought "asylum" due to a lack of values and education in their homeland.

Criticism of Putin's meeting: "Nothing good awaits me"
Vladimir Putin's offer to mediate in the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia is not being received with open arms by all parties, Radio Free Europe reports.
Gagik Melkonian, member of parliament and member of Armenia's ruling party, says the Russian president's meeting with his Azeri counterpart Ilham Aliyev was primarily about conspiring against Armenia.
- So personally, I don't expect anything good from that meeting.
Meanwhile, Armenian and Azeri forces continue to exchange accusations of shelling near the border between the two countries, the state-run private Pan Armenian news agency said.

Putin offers to mediate in protracted conflict
Russian President Vladimir Putin offers to mediate in the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia. This is reported by AFP.
The statement comes in connection with the Russian president's visit to Azerbaijan's capital Baku today.
- Russia's historical involvement in the South Caucasus, even in recent years, makes it necessary that we participate when the various sides need it, Putin says.
Azerbaijan took back the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh last year, forcing at least 100,000 Armenians to flee.
