Volcanic eruption after earthquake in Russia

The Shiveluch volcano in the Kamchatka region has erupted, writes Tass.
The volcano has started spewing ash and lava.
According to visual assessments, the ash clouds rise as high as 8 kilometers above sea level, according to a researcher at the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, writes Tass.
The volcano erupted after a strong earthquake that occurred off the Kamchatka Peninsula on Saturday.
According to the USGS, it was 7.4 in magnitude.
A tsunami warning was issued, according to the European earthquake watchdog EMSC's website. But later the warning was withdrawn because there was no longer perceived to be any risk of tsunami waves, wrote the Russian news agency Ria.
According to initial information, no one was injured after the earthquake.
Shiveluch is one of the largest volcanoes in Kamchatka with a height of 3
283 meters. It is located 50 kilometers from the village of Klyuchi in the Ust-Kamchatsky district and 450 km from the regional capital Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
Red warning for air traffic
A red warning for air traffic has been declared in connection with the volcanic eruption."Its activity is dangerous for local and international air travel," the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported on its Telegram channel.
The earthquake took place in the sea off the Kamchatka Peninsula.
