Harsh UN criticism: The security forces are watching
The United Nations strongly criticizes Israel after the attack on the Palestinian community of Jit in the occupied West Bank on Thursday. This is reported by AFP.
The UN agency OHCHR believes that the government and security forces are deliberately letting settlers get away with attacking Palestinians.
- There are reports that security forces stand and watch while the attacks take place. There are even reports of them handing out weapons, said spokesperson Ravina Shamdasani.
According to the Palestinian Authority, over 600 Palestinians have been killed in attacks in the West Bank since October 7. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has condemned Thursday's attack and promised that the perpetrators will be brought to justice.
