Norwegian government intervenes for medical student visas

Norway's government is intervening in a high-profile case involving ten medical students from Gaza who had their visa applications rejected.

Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre (Ap) calls on the migration authority Utlendingsdirektoratet (UDI) to grant the applications.

- Here we have ten young Palestinians who want to complete their medical studies, we can contribute to that, he tells NRK.

It was at the end of June that Oslo University announced that it wanted to offer the medical students an exchange semester. The students are currently in Egypt.

Report: 'Serious errors' as aid workers killed

Israel's defense forces committed "serious errors" when aid organization World Central Kitchen's convoy was attacked in Gaza in April. This is shown by an Australian report, according to several media.

Israel's government should issue a "proper apology" and consider compensation for the relatives of the seven employees who were killed, according to the report.

It is the former head of defense Mark Binskin who has investigated the incident. Binskin writes in the report that, according to his assessment, Israel did not deliberately attack the aid workers.
