Bangladesh is asking for help in rebuilding the country
Bangladesh's newly appointed leader of the transitional government, Muhammad Yunus, is asking the outside world for help in rebuilding the country after this summer's widespread protests, which he describes as "Bangladesh's second revolution". It is reported by the Dhaka Tribune.
- The revolutionary students want us to carry out meaningful and deep reforms to pre-elect the country into a real and flourishing democracy. The task is enormous, but manageable with the support of the people and the international community, says Yunus.

British right-wing extremists spread false information about "genocide" in Bangladesh
Far-right social media accounts are spreading false information about an ongoing "genocide of Hindus" in Bangladesh. This is reported by the BBC, which reviewed many of the posts.
Several accounts spreading false information were also implicated in the disinformation campaign that sparked racial riots in Britain earlier this summer.
Hindus in Bangladesh have been subjected to real attacks on several occasions in recent weeks. Since Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was forced to resign following popular protests, many Hindus in the country have felt insecure, Professor Sayeed Al-Zaman, an expert on disinformation and hate speech in Bangladesh, told the radio channel.
- And the fact that these influencers spread fear makes the situation even worse.
