Anger at Elon Musk after 'civil war' post
The British government criticizes Elon Musk after a post on X about the recent violent riots, The Guardian reports.
In a comment to a film that showed the violence in Liverpool, the Tesla founder wrote that "civil war is inevitable". There is no basis for any such claims, says one of Prime Minister Keir Starmer's spokespersons.
- We are talking about a minority of thugs, who do not speak for Great Britain, says the spokesperson, and adds that many Britons have had to "clean up the mess" caused by the rioters.
Violent riots led by far-right groups have erupted after the Southport stabbing in which three children were killed. Early on, incorrect information was spread that the suspect is an asylum seeker. However, he was born in Cardiff with roots from Rwanda, writes The Telegraph.

The Minister: Many are concerned - without throwing bricks
Jail places are ready for the "rowdy rioters" who took part in the violent riots in the UK in recent days. This is what the country's Minister of the Interior, Yvette Cooper, tells the BBC.
This weekend, protesters have attacked mosques as well as hotels where asylum seekers stay, smashed windows, lit fires and clashed with police. A shameful act, according to Cooper. She adds that the peaceful protesters protesting after last week's stabbing in Southport, where three girls were killed, are something completely different from the perpetrators.
- Many people are worried and have opinions about crime, the healthcare system and immigration. But they don't pick up bricks and throw them at the police, they don't try to set fire to hotels and they don't loot shops, says Cooper.
