Analysis: Hezbollah leader's death is humiliating for the US
The fact that Israel killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah is humiliating for the United States. That's what Patrick Wintour writes in an analyzing text in The Guardian.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appeared at the UN General Assembly meeting in New York without saying a word about the plans, and also led his closest allies to believe he was prepared to agree to a ceasefire with Hezbollah, when in fact he was planning the opposite .
"For Washington, this is a diplomatic humiliation and a display of inability, or unwillingness, to control its problematic ally," Wintour writes. pp
"No one in the White House is crying over Hassan Nasrallah," Peter Baker and Julian E Barnes clarify in the New York Times. However, they write, veterans on Biden's team wonder if Netanyahu is deliberately trying to help Donald Trump win the presidential election by making Biden and Kamala Harris look lost.
