The Fed vs Inflation
Mistakes by the Fed the biggest threat to the US economy
A monetary policy mistake by the Federal Reserve in the anti-inflation frenzy is the biggest threat to the US economy. This is according to a survey among economists that Reuters has seen.
According to the NABE survey, 39 percent of respondents believe that a misstep by the Fed constitutes the greatest economic risk in the next 12 months.
In comparison, only 23 percent of respondents consider the presidential election to be the greatest risk.
During Monday, Fed chief Jerome Powell will give a speech in Nashville where he is expected to reason about the central bank's decision to cut the interest rate by 50 points.

Chinese stock markets had their best day since 2008
The morning rally in Mainland China summed up the best month on the Chinese stock market in almost ten years, writes Reuters. The Shenzhen Stock Exchange rose 11 percent on Monday morning.
- The market is still surprised by China's support measures and the trend continues, Keny Ng, strategist at China Everbright Securities International in Hong Kong told the news agency.
Last week saw a barrage of stimulus from the People's Bank of China, followed by a statement on Sunday night to cut mortgage rates before October 31. Property shares have lifted broadly.
The CSI 300 index is up more than 20 percent so far in September, posting its best day since September 2008 after an 8.5 percent rally, according to CNBC.
- China's government seems more focused now on pushing through economic support measures and getting the economy booming again. It feels more hopeful now, says Matthew Haupt, trustee at Wilson, to Bloomberg.

The future of Spotify
Spotify is denied exemption for night work - again
The Court of Appeal says no to Spotify's request for an exemption for night work for 250 employees. This is stated in a press release.
Spotify, which does not have a collective agreement, has argued that exemptions for night work are necessary to maintain operations and to protect customer data. Reasons which the Court of Appeal does not consider to be sufficient.
- Since the main business Spotify AB conducts is audio streaming, above all of music, the Court of Appeal considers that work with operational disruptions weighs less heavily in the assessment, says Court of Appeal Councilor Daniel Sjölund.
The announcement comes after Spotify was previously denied an exemption by the Swedish Work Environment Authority and was refused in the administrative court.
