Hurricane season
Meteorologist interrupted broadcast - saved distressed woman

Fox News meteorologist Bob Van Dillen rescued a woman who got stuck in bodies of water in the middle of a live broadcast. This is reported by several media.

Van Dillen recounted Hurricane Helene's progress on location in Atlanta's Peachtree Creek for the television camera. Suddenly, viewers could hear a woman's desperate cry for help.

Angelina Madut was on her way home from her night shift and had driven her car straight into a flooded area. She was stuck and the car filled with water.

- I'll see if I can help the woman a little. I'll be right back, Van Dillen said and left the broadcast.

Shortly afterwards, TV viewers could see how Van Dillen came wading back - with Angelina Madut on his back.

At least 59 people have died in the past two days and another 44 people are missing after Nepal was hit by heavy downpours. The rainy weather has led to floods and landslides in the last 24 hours, AFP reports.

In the Himalayan region, most rivers have risen and overflowed roads and bridges, according to local authorities. According to police spokesperson Dan Bahadur Karki, several highways in the country have been blocked due to landslides.

Flights to and from Nepal have not been affected by the storm, but several domestic flights have been halted.
