Kremlin: New nuclear doctrine "a signal" to the West

The new nuclear doctrine proposed by Vladimir Putin is a warning to the West, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Thursday. He says that "there will be consequences" if countries in the West participate in attacks against Russia.

Peskov, meanwhile, says Russia is considering whether or not to publish the updated guidelines.

The changes mean, among other things, that if a country with nuclear weapons capability actively helps a non-nuclear weapon state to attack Russia with conventional weapons, both countries will be seen as aggressors.
