Analysis: War on several fronts - then Netanyahu will do well
Things are going well for Benjamin Netanyahu, despite his country being at war on several fronts. That's what CNN's Mick Krever writes in an analyzing text.
He points out that Israel's war-making is popular with large sections of the population and that Netanyahu's approval ratings have rebounded from a low just after October 7.
"Netanyahu is the winner. But it is also impossible to deny that the country is in crisis, despite the wave of euphoria after the assassination of Nasrallah".
Netanyahu has also been further strengthened by yesterday's appointment of rival Gideon Sa'ar as minister without portfolio, writes Yossi Verter in Haaretz.
Not only has one of the government's fiercest critics been silenced - Netanyahu has also gained four more votes in the Knesset. That at the price of a formal position without practical influence.
"He got it for sale price, with a double discount," writes Verter.
