Emmanuel Macron wants to see security guarantees for Russia.
A statement that is seen by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba.
- There is the European community and then there is Macron, he says.
It was after a meeting with Joe Biden at the end of November that the French president was responsible for an attention-grabbing outburst.
To end the war, Macron called on NATO members to give Russia security guarantees.
- One of the things that President Vladimir Putin has always emphasized is the concern that NATO will reach Russia's border and deploy weapons there that could threaten the country. This will be important for peace, so we need to talk about it, he said.

"Haven't heard the idea from anyone else"
Macron has received harsh criticism after the statement - and now Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba also chooses to send a boot.
- Macron has done a lot so that Ukraine could protect itself from Russia and defeat Russia. But when it comes to such ideological things regarding Russia, there is the European political community - and then there is President Macron, he said in an interview with Ukrainian RBC
However, he has noted that no other European leaders have raised the issue.
- Apart from President Macron, I have not heard this idea from anyone, he says.
"Degrading themselves"
It is not the first time that Kuleba has attacked Macron.
In June, he criticized the French president's statement that the Russians should not be humiliated as there will come a day when "the fighting will stop and we will be able to move on with diplomacy".
- France and all other countries that call not to humiliate Russia are only humiliating themselves, he said then.
