After the rape allegations, King Charles steps down.
Now he is closing down Prince Andrew's office at Buckingham Palace and laying off the staff.
- It is a natural consequence of the prince no longer being allowed to represent the royal house, says court expert Sara Ericsson.
Prins Andrew, 62, was forced to end all royal duties and his work for the royal household in 2019. His friendship with pedophile and billionaire Jeffrey Epstein had had far-reaching consequences and one of the victims accused the prince of rape.
After a publicized interview with the BBC in 2019 in which Prince Andrew was caught with several lies, the Queen made the decision that he is not allowed to work for the royal household.
After the Queen's death, many believed that the prince's brother, King Charles, would let Andrew into the heat again. Especially after Prince Andrew was allowed to join the rest of the royal family on the traditional Christmas Day church visit.

Losing staff and bodyguards
But just a couple of days later, British media reported that the king had made an important decision about his scandal-ridden brother.
Prince Andrew's office at Buckingham Palace will be closed and the Prince will no longer be able to address the Palace in his correspondence.
His staff must terminate their employment and there is no turning back for Andrew.
It was recently announced that the prince is also losing the security system with bodyguards paid by the apanage. It's only for working royalty.
- Prince Andrew has fought until the end to get back into the royal house and be forgiven. Many believed that the prince's presence with the royal family on Christmas Day was a first step. But King Charles was quick to put an end to the speculation, says Sara Ericsson.

Wants to clean up his tarnished reputation
Prince Andrew still lives at the Royal Lodge in Windsor with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, but he is rarely seen out these days. British media reports that the prince is looking for a new communications team to help him polish up his tarnished reputation.
- He needs to find a new everyday life and a new area to get involved in. But the question is whether any company or organization wants to be associated with him after the legal scandal, says Sara Ericsson.
