The charges against Trump
“Shocking, embarrassing and strikingly personal”
CNN sums up the hearing with prosecutor Fani Willis in Georgia in the US in a harsh tone: "Shocking, embarrassing and strikingly personal."
Willis is the prosecutor in the case where Trump is accused of election fraud. She is accused of having an affair with a fellow prosecutor, Nathan Wade, whom she hired on the case. It could mean Willis being disqualified from pursuing the goal or having it completely voided.
According to CNN, the Willis hearing quickly derailed.
“She was not acting as a witness in the traditional sense, but more like a prosecutor, arguing with the defense lawyers, making objections, presenting legal arguments and having exchanges with the judge. She even raised her voice at one point.”
It is unclear whether Willis can regain control of the Trump case, writes The Guardian's Sam Levine. He notes that she fought hard to "remind the American public that the process is a distraction from the core issue: The attempt to overthrow democracy."

America's abortion policy
Facts: Trump supports abortion ban after 16 weeks
Donald
Trump has told his confidantes that he supports a national ban on
abortion after 16 weeks, with the exception of rape, incest or in danger
to the woman's life, sources familiar with the matter told the New York
Times.
Outwardly,
Trump has been careful to weigh his words on the abortion issue because
he believes Republican politicians often lose votes on their stance on
the issue, the sources said.
The ex-president's spokesperson Karoline Leavitt calls the article "fake news", according to The Hill.

The impeachment threat against Biden
FBI source indicted for lying about Joe and Hunter Biden
Former
FBI source Alexander Smirnov is charged with lying about President Joe
Biden and his son Hunter Biden, the US Department of Justice said in a
statement.
According
to the indictment, in June 2020, Smirnov will have falsely told the FBI
that the Ukrainian energy company Burisma paid the president and his
scandal-ridden son five million dollars each.
That
and other information from Smirnov has been central to the Republican
corruption charges against Joe and Hunter Biden, and formed the basis of
an impeachment investigation launched against the president.
Smirnov faces 25 years in prison if convicted.
