The primary election
Trump pulls away from Biden in new survey: "Largest lead"
A poll by NBC News shows that Donald Trump has 47 percent support, while President Joe Biden has 42 percent support.
This
means that Trump extends his lead against Biden compared to the NBC
figures in November when Trump received 46 percent support to Biden's
44. In September, Trump and Biden received the same amount of support at
46 percent each.
NBC
News political reporter Steve Kornacki states that Sunday's lead is the
largest Trump has had over Biden in any of the TV channel's polls since
2019, writes Aftonbladet.
The same poll shows that Biden's confidence numbers are at the lowest level ever in an NBC poll. Only 37 percent of those polled think the current president is doing a good job.

The NATO process|Sweden's application
No NATO yes in Hungary – member: "Childishness"
As
expected, there was no decision on the Swedish NATO application in the
Hungarian parliament on Monday either, reports several media.
The
opposition had called for an extra session on Sweden's application, but
not a single member from the ruling party Fidesz or their partner party
KDNP showed up. That is what Agnes Vadai, member of parliament for the opposition party Democratic Coalition, told DN.
- They want Orbán and Kristersson to meet in Budapest first. It's childish, she tells DN.
The very question of the meeting between Kristersson and Prime Minister Orbán still hangs in the air. Should it take place before or after Hungary approves Sweden as a member of NATO? According to Kristersson, it is most appropriate after, according to the Hungarian government before.
"The ball is now in your court", the government's spokesperson Zoltán Kovács has said, among other things.

Political situation in Senegal
Continued protests in Senegal - police fire tear gas
Senegalese police have fired tear gas at demonstrators who gathered outside the country's parliament to protest against President Macky Sall choosing to postpone the presidential election. This is reported by several media.
It is the first time in Senegal's history that a presidential election has been postponed. The decision has sparked anger among oppositionists who believe that Sall's decision can be compared to a "constitutional coup".
On Monday, a debate was held in parliament on a proposal to postpone the presidential election for up to six months and extend Sall's term until a successor is in place.
There are also reports that the internet in the country has been restricted.

China sentences author to death for espionage
A Chinese court has sentenced the Australian-Chinese author and democracy blogger Yang Hengjun to death for espionage, several media reports.
Yang was arrested in China in 2019 and has always denied the allegations. China, in turn, has not released details of what Yang is accused of, other than that it involves spying against China for an unnamed country.
The death sentence against Yang is suspended for two years, which means it can be commuted to life imprisonment after the two years.
Australia condemns the verdict and calls for Yang's release.
