The police: Nothing indicates an explosion before the crash
There is no indication of an explosion on board the DHL plane before it crashed outside Vilnius airport. That's what a police spokesperson says according to Reuters.
Lithuanian authorities say that there is currently no indication of sabotage, but state that they are in contact with allies and are looking into possible links to terrorism or sabotage.
- We cannot rule out a terrorist crime. We have warned about such things and we see an increasingly aggressive Russia, but it is too early to say anything and point fingers, says Darius Jauniskis, head of the Department of Homeland Security, to AFP.
Polish, British and German authorities are investigating previous cases of fires in warehouses at airports. Explosive charges were then in packages that were supposed to be sent by cargo flight.

The crash was "probably due to a technical error or the human factor," police chief Arūnas Paulauskas told Lithuanian public service LRT.
