Information: Russia is to appoint a new US ambassador
The Kremlin is expected to soon appoint Aleksandr Dartjiev as the new ambassador to the United States, three sources told the Russian newspaper Kommersant.
Dartjiev is currently head of the Russian Foreign Ministry's North American department. He was the former ambassador to Canada between 2014 and 2021, speaks fluent English and has devoted his entire career to US and North American affairs.
Last month, Anatoly Anatov ended his service as US ambassador after serving since 2017.

Iran plans to hold talks on its nuclear program with Britain, France and Germany in the coming week. This is confirmed by Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Kyodo.
According to sources for the newspaper, the EU will also participate as a mediator. In addition to Iran's nuclear power, the talks will also deal with Europe's sanctions against the country.
Plane in flames at Turkish airport - evacuated
A passenger plane has caught fire shortly after landing at Antalya airport in Turkey, reports Reuters.
All 89 passengers and the entire crew are said to have been evacuated without injury. The airport has been closed to all traffic.

According to Turkey's transport authority, it is a Russian-made plane of the Sukhoi Superjet type that was on its way from the Russian seaside resort of Sochi.
