The Pope has been hospitalized for over a week.

Now the Vatican announces that Francis' condition has worsened.

"He has received a blood transfusion".

Pope Francis, 88, is suffering from double pneumonia.

According to the Vatican, the Holy Father's health is critical.

The announcement of the Pope's deteriorating health was announced last Friday.

He has been hospitalized since then.

- The Pope suffered an asthma-like attack this morning. He has received a blood transfusion due to low platelet counts, the Vatican said on Saturday evening.

According to Corriere Della Sera, the Pope will be hospitalized for at least another week.
